James Montgomery is a flash fiction writer based in Staffordshire, UK. He has won the Pokrass Prize, and Retreat West’s best micro fiction prize, placed second in the international Micro Madness competition, and been highly commended in the Bath Flash Fiction Award. James’ stories have been published in various anthologies and literary magazines, including Reflex Fiction, Maudlin House, Gone Lawn, Janus Literary, Ellipsis Zine, Twin Pies Literary and elsewhere, and he has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best Small Fictions and Best of the Net. He is a member of the Betas & Bludgers and Flash Corral writing groups.
Outside of writing, James works full-time for a leading and award-winning B2B marketing consultancy, directing energy, technology and engineering brands on their content marketing strategies. He has a CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Oxford College of Marketing, an MA degree in Journalism from Staffordshire University, and a First Class BA degree in English Literature from Lancaster University.
